A Festive Front Porch For Halloween

I love Autumn, and Halloween has always been a favorite holiday of mine, but I’m not a big fan of scary things.  My husband and children on the other hand LOVE all of the creepy Halloween goodness this time of year! Soooo… when my kids saw my front porch display for this fall they insisted that the mums, pumpkins and gourds I had put out did not count as Halloween decorations!

(I attempted to make my dead planter boxes look intentional by adding cute little pumpkins and gourds. Walmart sells little bags of them for less than $3.  I used two bags in my planter boxes and now I want to go buy more for the inside of my home!)

Knowing how magical holidays can be for kids, and remembering how much I loved (the not too creepy) Halloween decorations when I was young, I decided to spook up my display a bit by incorporating decorations that I had on hand. (Except for the witch legs, those were strongly requested by my four year old when we were shopping at Hobby Lobby and I totally caved!) Keep scrolling for closeup details…
